제주도 – 11월 1일 오전 4시 00분 게릴라부대 사령관 김달삼의 명령에 의해 경찰 및 정부 고위 관리를 암살하고 폭동과 소요를 일으켜 현 정부를 장악한 뒤 제주도에 인민공화국을 수립하려던 음모가 작전개시 30분 전에 분쇄됐다. 경찰관 몇 명을 포함해 75명이 체포됐다.

임시군사고문단이 11월 1일 새벽 이곳 제주읍에서 민간인 5명이 해안가로 밀려 왔다고 보고했다. 희생자는 제주읍의 좌익 인사들로 보고됐다.

11월 2일 L-5 기조관찰 결과, 섬의 남쪽에 있는 도로가 추가로 차단됐다. 섬 주위에선 전봇대가 계속 잘려나가고 있다.

CHEJU DO - At about 0400 hours 1 November a plot to
assassinate high staff members of Korean National Police and government officials, create riots, disorder, to take over present government, and to establish a Peoples Republic of
CHEJU DO was smashed by 30 minutes prior to time ordered by
Kim Tal San, CO of guerrilla forces. About 75 persons were arrested including several members of National Police.

PMAG reported that at dawn 1 November, 5 civilians were washed ashore in CHEJU City. Victims were reported to be leftist members of CHEJU City.

On 2 November an observation by an L-5 shows that additional road blocks were constructed on south side of the island; telephone poles were continuing to be sawed down around the island.

On 29 October, time unknown, Constabulary 2d operation against raiders in vicinity of KOSONG-NI, AWBOL Myun, has inflicted many casualties against raiders including about 135 killed.
