c. 제주도 무장대 활동 10월 23일 무장대 약 60명이 조천(963-1153) 지서를 공격했다. 경비대가 도착하자 무장대는 도주했다. 어느 측도 사상자는 없었다. (방첩대 정기보고 제254호. C-3)
10월 24일 신흥리(962-1154) 인근에서 전화선을 보수하던 경찰 7명이 무장대 40명으로부터 습격을 받았다. 경찰 1명이 피살되었고 그의 무기는 탈취되었다. 임시경찰인 서북청년단원들이 현장에 급파되어 무장대를 격퇴했다. (방첩대 정기보고 제254호, C-3)
10월 24일 무장대 35명과 숫자 미상의 비무장 무장대원들이 수산리(Soo Nan Ni, 938-1146, 애월)에서 경찰을 공격했다. 경찰 1명이 피살되고 1명은 부상당했다. (방첩대 정기보고 제254호. C-3)
10월 29일 경비대 소속 정찰대가 KOHUNG-NI(971-1146, 좌표상선흘리추정)에서 집회를 하고 있던 무장대 약 200명을 기습했다. 무장대와 순찰대 사이에 8시간 동안의 교전이 있었다. 후에 정찰대에 2개 경비중대 병력이 보강되었다. 이 교전에서 무장대 4명이 사살되고 20명이 생포되었다. 김달삼 휘하의 제주도 게릴라군의 부사령관이 사살되었다. 무장대로부터 탄약과 무기, 피복 등을 압수하였다. 압수된 문서에 따르면 제주읍을 6일 간 공격하려는 계획이 무장대들에 의해 추진되고 있다. 경비대 측 사상자는 없는 것으로 보고되었다. a. Rebels Surrounded In CHLLA-NMND.
A report received on 31 October stated that 300 rebels were surrounded by the 3rd Constabulary Regiment 5 miles northeast of KURYE
(1047-1358). (C-3)
b. Terrorism In KYONGSONG-PUKTU.
On 29 October the Chief of the TAEGU police was fired on by two men armed with pistols. The police chief was unharmed and the assailants escaped. (6th Div Flash Report. B-2)
On 28 October 4 detectives raided a communist hideout in CHUCKCHON Myun (1206-1475). A firefight developed between the detectives and the communists. One communist was killed and 6 were captured. All were identified as members of the SOUTH KOREA LABOR PARTY. (6th Div

c. Raider Activities On CHEJU DO
On 23 October an estimated 60 raiders attacked the police at CHO
CHUN NI (963-1154). Constabularymen arrived and the raiders were driven off. There were no casualties to either sides. (CIC P/R #254. C-3)
On 24 October 7 policemen repairing telephone lines near SHIN
HEUNG NI (962-1154) were attacked by 40 raiders. One policeman was killed and his weapon was taken. Members of the NORTHWEST YOUNG MEN'S
ASSOCIATION, acting as temporary policemen, were dispatched to the scene and drove off the raiders. (CIC P/R #254. C-3)
On 24 October 35 armed raiders and an unknown number of unarmed raiders attacked the police at SUO NAN NI (938-1146). One policeman was killed and 1 was wounded. (CIC P/R #254. C-3)
On 29 October a Constabulary patrol surprised an estimated 200 raiders who were holding a meeting at KOHUNG NI (971-1146). A fight, which lasted about eight hours, developed between the raiders and the
Constabulary patrol. The patrol was later reinforced by 2 Constabulary companies. Four raiders were killed and 20 were captured. The second in command under KIM Tal San, of the CHEJU DO guerrilla forces was reported killed. Ammunition, weapons and clothing were confiscated from the raiders. Captured documents indicated that a 6-day campaign against
