LOCATION OF TROOPS a) Effective 24 September 1948 the following unit was relieved from assignment to the 2d Engineer Construction Group and assigned to Korea Base Command: 340th Engineer Construction Battalion. b. Effective 24 September 1948 the following units were relieved from assignment to the 2d Engineer Construction Group and are assigned to Special Troops XXIV Corps: *588th Engineer Dump Truck Company *594th Engineer Dump Truck Company *584th Engineer Light Equipment Company 59th Engineer Topo Company 513th Engineer Utility Detachment 2. WEATHER AND VISIBILITY Cool and clear. Favorable to air and ground operations. 3. OPERATIONS FOR THE PERIOD a. 6th Infantry Division: (1) (Delayed) One composite rifle platoon 2d Battalion 1st Infantry Regiment departed Pusan (1202.0-1345.0) by air, 230950 September 1948 closed Cheju-Do (951.0-1503.0) 231730 September 1948. (2) (Delayed) One composite rifle platoon 2d Battalion 1st Infantry Regiment departed Cheju-Do (951.0-1503.0) 231130 September 1948 closed Pusan (1202.0-1345.0) 232000 September 1948. (3) 1st Field Artillery Battalion conducted 1 motorized patrol for intelligence and security. (4) 5,538 Military and 23,239 Civilian Measurement Tons were discharged from the port of Pusan during the period. (5) During the period 19 to 25 September 1948, 709 Military Measurement Tons were outloaded from the port of Pusan. (6) Effective 30 September 1948 the following units were reduced to record status: [illegible] 506th Engineer Utilities Detachment. 184th Malaria Control Unit. b. 7th Infantry Division: (1) Co "E" 31st Infantry Regiment departed Chunchon (1070.5- 1682.5) 280900 September 1948 closed Seoul (998.1-1638.8) 281345 September 1948. Secret DECLASSIFIED Authority NND943500 Secret 7th Infantry Division, continued: (2) Patrols for intelligence and security were conducted as follows: 48th Field Artillery Battalion, 1 motorized patrol; 32d Infantry Regiment, 86 foot and 6 motorized patrols; 31st Infantry Regiment, 31 foot and 3 motorized patrols. c. Korea Base Command: (1) 3,710 Military Measurement Tons were discharged from the port of Inchon during the period. (d) During the period 19 to 25 September 1948, 35,800 Military Measurement Tons were outloaded from the port of Inchon. 4. RESULTS OF OPERATIONS Minor troop displacements were effected. All major commands continued normal occupational duties. 5. MISCELLANEOUS a. During the period 221800 September 1948 to 281800 September 1948 the Korean Coast Guard investigated 226 vessels in Korean waters: 4 were arrested operating illegally and sent to port under guard. b. Korean Constabulary: (1) Headquarters 1st Battalion and A and B Companies, 13th Regiment, 1st Brigade departed On Tong (1003.0-1547.0) on 250300 September 1948 closed Chon An (1015.0-1551.0) on 251200 September 1948. (2) One Battalion, 10th Regiment, 4th Brigade departed An Dong (1069.0-1524.0) on 240300 September 1948 closed Kangnung (1163.0-1681.0) 262800 September 1948. c.
