a. 테러
(1) 구곡동 (KUKTONG, 1156-1514) - 1948년 5월 26일 오후 11시 30분, 몽둥이로 무장한 5명의 무리가 지역 우파 지도자 권태은(KWAN, Tae Eun)을 그의 집에서 폭행했다. (경찰보고)
(2) 대구 (1157-1439) - 1948년 5월 28일 오후 11시, 경찰은 남조선노동당원 7명을 체포했다. 그중 여성 2명은 1948년 5월 11일 형사과장의 자택을 폭탄으로 공격하려는 시도에 동참했었다고 자백했다. (정보참모부 정기보고 제936호, 1948년 5월 12일 자.) (경찰보고)
b. 불온적 성향의 불법 활동 하리면 (1141-1546) - 1948년 5월 29일 오후 7시 30분, 기밀 제보를 받고 출동한 경찰이 지역 당 간부 박준한(BAK, Jun Han)의 자택에서 열리고 있던 남조선노동당 비밀 회동을 습격했다. 참석자들이 도주를 시도하자 경찰은 그중 한 명을 사살했다. 나머지는 도주했다. (경찰보고)

a. Terrorism.
(1) KUKTONG (1156 - 1514) - At 2330, 26 May 48, a group of five men, armed with clubs, beat KLAN, Tae Mun, local rightist leader, at his home. (Police report)
(2) TAEGU (1157 - 1439) - At 2300, 28 May 48, police arrested a group of seven members of the South Korea Labor Party, including two women all of whom admitted having participated in the attempted bombing of the home of the Chief of Detectives on 11 May 48. (G-2 P/R # 936, dtd

b. Illegal Activity of a Subversive Nature.
Hari Mun (1141 - 1546) - At 1930, 29 May 48, acting on confidential information, police raided a secret meeting of South Korea Labor Party members at the home of BAK, Jun Han, the local leader of the party. When the conferees attempted to escape, police shot and killed one man. The remainder of the group escaped. (Police report)

a. Civil Disturbances by Province.
Cheju-Do:
PONGYAE-RI (959 - 1149) - On the morning of 30 May 48, police entered this village in which raiders had taken refuge. Fleeing raiders set fire to police stores of ammunition and dynamite. (B-2)

ANDONG (1169 - 1523) - On 28 May 48, police arrested ten of twelve employees of the local Gun Office, who were charged with holding membership in the South Korea Labor Party cell organized among the Gun employees.

TAEGU (1157 - 1439) - On 28 May 48, police arrested BAK, Nam Su, Chief of the Propaganda and Publicity Section of the South Korea Labor Party (SKLP), together with twelve other members. During the arrests, police confiscated a printing press and a number of handbills which advocated the death of the
Provincial Police Chief and all other police who failed to join the SKLP.
