a. 사보타주
(1) 이연리 (1173-1392) - (지도에 없음) - 1948년 5월 10일 오전 11시, 3명의 무리가 투표소에 불을 지르고 아직 다 차지 않은 투표함을 들고 도주했다. 경찰은 이후 투표용지와 투표함을 회수했다. (경찰보고)
(2) 김해 (1180-1302) - 1948년 5월 10일 오전 11시 50분, 한 공격자가 단독으로 기표소에 가솔린 수류탄을 투척하고 근처 숲으로 도주했다. 선거위원 2명이 경도의 화상을 입었다. (경찰보고)
(3) 웅양면 (1091-1436) - 1948년 5월 10일, 산탄총 2정으로 무장한 5명의 무리가 제1기표소를 공격했다. 이들은 투표함을 탈취하여, 투표함과 그 안에 있던 내용물을 함께 불태워버렸다. 경찰은 공격자 중 1명(남조선노동당 지역 당원으로 밝혀짐)을 향해 발포했다. (B-2)
(4) 북촌리 (969-1156) - 1948년 5월 10일 오후 4시, 투표소가 불에 탔다. 모든 투표용지가 훼손됐다. (B-2)
b. 테러
(1) 가시리 (997-1133) - 1948년 5월 10일, 투표소가 공격받는 과정에서 마을이장과 학교 교장이 살해됐다. 교장의 부인은 부상당했다. (B-2)
(2) 성산면 (990-1140) - 기표소가 공격받는 과정에서 4명의 사람이 살해당했다. 세부 사항은 조사 중이다. (경찰보고)
3. 대민관계 도별 민간인 소요
a. 경상북도:
(1) 옥대리 (1156-1572) - 1948년 5월 10일 오전 7시 30분, 개수 미상의 소총으로 무장한 10명의 무리가 제7선거사무소를 향해 발포했다. 경찰은 발포하여 무리를 해산시켰다. 보고된 사상자는 없다. (C-3)
(2) 오암동 (1150-1554) - 1948년 5월 10일, 소총으로 무장한 남성 약 10명이 선거사무소를 공격했다. 이들은 경찰이 자신들을 향해 발포하자 해산했다. 보고된 사상자나 체포자는 없다. (경찰보고)
b. 경상남도:
(1) 계산 (1146-1396) - (지도에 없음) - 1948년 5월 10일 오후 10시 35분, 규모 미상의 무리가 지역 경찰지서를 공격했다. 보고된 사상자나 체포자는 없다. (경찰보고)
(2) 광계리 (1148-1390) - (지도에 없음) - 1948년 5월 10일 오후 5시, 창으로 무장한 30명의 무리가 지역 기표소를 공격하고 투표함 1개와 투표용지를 탈취했다. 공격 과정에서 경찰 1명이 심각하게 부상당했다. 공격자들은 부상당한 경찰의 카빈과 탄환 12발을 탈취했다. 경찰은 이후 투표함과 투표용지를 회수했다. (경찰보고)
(3) 갈계리 (1081-1428) - (지도에 없음) - (추가보고) - 경찰보고에 따르면, 1948년 5월 8일 오후 5시 30분, 산탄총과 미국제 카빈으로 무장한 수백 명의 무리가 경찰지서를 공격했다. 경찰은 반격을 가했다. 경찰 1명, 우파 1명, 좌파 2명이 사망했다. 1948년 5월 9일, 제1야전포병대대 정찰대는 최근 경찰지서가 공격당했고 민간인 2명이 사망하고 주택 7채가 불태워졌다는 사실을 확인했다. 지역선거위원이 정찰대장에게 말한 바에 따르면, 이는 경찰지서 공격에 대한 보복으로 경찰이 좌파 소유의 가택에 불을 지른 것이었다. 경찰은 혐의를 부인했다. c. 제주도:
함덕(HAMBOK, 942-1144) - 1948년 5월 11일 오후 4시, 신원 미상의 무리

a. 부산: 1948년 5월 11일 오전 9시, 항만노동자 150명이 제1부두 업무로 복귀하는 것을 거부했다. 1948년 5월 11일 오후 1시, 항만노동자 450명이 점심시간 이후 제2부두 업무로 복귀하지 않았다. 소요 발생은 없었다. (A-1)
b. 조천리 (963-1154) - 1948년 5월 10일, 경비대는 심문받던 중 도주하려 시도한 남성 1명을 죽였다. (B-2)
c. 신엄리 (935-1147) - 1948년 5월 10일 오후 6시, 경비대원 5명이 미군정장교 1명과 신엄리 인근에서 마주쳤다. 경비대원들은 무장대 16명에 의해 자신들이 마을에서 쫓겨났다고 말했다. 그날 밤 조사가 진행되며 경비대원들이 말했던 사건은 없었다는 사실이 밝혀졌다. 마을에 무장대는 없었고 경비대원 5명은 자신의 근무지를 이탈한 것이었다. 경비대에 파견된 미군 고문관은 위의 경비대원들이 근무지 이탈 혐의로 재판받게 될 것이라고 보고했다. (A-1)

a. Sabotage.
(1) RIYUN-RI (1173 - 1392) - (not on map) - At 1100, 10 May 48, a group of three men, set fire to the polling place, seized the partially filled ballot box and escaped. Police later recovered the ballot box together with ballots. (Police report)
(2) KUMHAE (1180 - 1302) - At 1150, 10 May 48, a lone attacker tossed a gasoline filled grenade into the polling booth and escaped into the nearby woods. Two members of the election committee were burned superficially. (Police report)
(3) Ungyang Myun (1091 - 1430) - At 1130, 10 May 48, polling booth # 1 was attacked by a group of five men, armed with two shotguns, who seized and burned the ballot box and its contents. Police shot one of the attackers who was identified as a member of the local South Korea Labor Party. (Police report)
(4) PUKCHON-RI (909 - 1156) - At 1600, 10 May 48, the voting place was burned. All ballots were destroyed. (B-2)
b. Terrorism.
(1) KASI-RI (997 - 1133) - On 10 May 48, during a raid on the voting place the village head and the school superintendent were killed. The latter's wife was injured. (B-2)
(2) Songsan Myun (990 - 1140) - On 10 May 48, four persons were killed during a raid on a voting booth. Details are being sought. (Police report)
c. Illegal Activity of a Subversive Nature.
Myonsong Myun (947 - 1331) - At 2200, 9 May 48, a group of eight men entered the warehouse of a private contractor and took 200 sticks of dynamite, 104 percussion caps, and 50 meters of fuse. (Police report)

Civil Disturbances by Province.
a. Kyongsang-North:
(1) OKTAE-RI (1158 - 1572) - At 0730, 10 May 48, a group of ten persons, armed with an unknown number of rifles, fired into the # 7 Election Office. Police opened fire, dispersing the group. No casualties were reported. (C-3)
(2) YONGJU (1150 - 1555) - At 0200, 10 May 48, a group of thirty unidentified persons, armed with an unknown number of rifles, attacked the JIPUN Police Sub-Station. Police opened fire, dispersing the group. No arrests or casualties were reported. (Police report)
(3) OAM-DONG (1150 - 1454) - On 10 May 48, approximately ten men, armed with rifles, attacked the election office. The group dispersed when police fired on them. No casualties or arrests were reported. (Police report)

(1) KAISAN (1146 - 1396) - (not on map) - At 2235, 10 May 48, the local police box was attacked by a crowd of unknown size. No casualties or arrests were reported. (Police report)
(2) KWANGGAN-RI (1148 - 1390) - (not on map) - At 1700, 10 May 48, a group of thirty men, armed with spears, attacked the local polling booth and seized one ballot box and ballots. During the attack one policeman was seriously injured. The attackers seized his carbine and twelve rounds of ammunition. Later, the ballot box, together with ballots was recovered by police. (Police report)
(3) KALGYE-RE (1061 - 1428) - (not on map) - (delayed report) - Police report that at 1730, 9 May 48, a crowd of several hundred persons, armed with shotguns and U.S. Carbines, attacked the police box. Police repulsed the attackers. One policeman, one rightist and two leftists were killed. On 9 May 48, a patrol from the 1st FA Bn., established the fact that the police box had been attacked, that two civilians had been killed, and that seven houses had been burned recently. The members of the local Election Committee informed the patrol leader that the houses, belonging to leftists, had been fired by police in retaliation for the attack on police box. Police denied the allegation. (A-1)
c. Cheju-Do:
HAMBOK (942 - 1144) - At 1600, 11 May 48, a group of unknown persons captured two policemen and took them to the hills. (C-3)
4. Summary of Intelligence in Adjacent Areas.

5. Miscellaneous.
a. PUSAN: At 0900, 11 May 48, 150 stevedores, refused to return to work on Pier 1. At 1300, 11 May 48, 450 stevedores failed to return to work on Pier 2, after the lunch hour. No disturbances occurred. (A-1)
b. CHOCHON-NI (903 - 1154) - On 10 May 48, the Constabulary killed one man, who attempted to escape while being held for questioning. (B-2)
c. SINAM-NI (935 - 1147) - At 1800, 10 May 48, five Constabularymen were met by a Military Government Officer at a suburb of SINAM-NI. The Constabularymen stated that they had been driven out of SINAM-NI by a group of sixteen raiders. Later in the evening, investigation disclosed that no such incident had occurred, that no raiders were present in the town, and that the five Constabularymen had left their posts. The U.S. Advisor to this Constabulary reports that the men will be tried for deserting their posts. (A-1)
