유엔조선임시위원단

4월 3일 31차 위원단 회의에서 유엔조선임시위원단은 주한미군 사령관이 보낸 서한에서 제기된 문제점을 검토한 뒤 선거일을 5월 9일에서 5월 10일로 연기하 자는 사령관의 제안에 동의하기로 결정했다. 위원단은 이같은 결정을 내림에 있 어 연기로 인해 선거 절차에 미칠 수 있는 어떠한 법적인 영향도 책임 있는 당국에 의해 고려될 것이라고 간주하겠다.

At its thirty-first meeting held on 3 April, the
United Nations Temporary Commission on Korea, after considering the issues raised in a letter from the Commanding General, United States Army Forces in Korea, decided to concur in the proposal of the Commanding General to postpone the date of elections from 9 to 10 May 1948.
In making this decision the Commission presumed that any legal implications affecting electoral procedures which might arise from the postponement would be taken into account by the responsible authorities.
