None reported. 2. Counterintelligence. Subversive Activity. a. Sabotage. MASAN (1157 - 1357) - At 0400, 18 March 48, the police telephone line between MASAN and CHINJU (1107 - 1357) was cut. (A-1) b. Illegal Activity of a Subversive Nature. HIPCHON (1116 - 1401) - On the afternoon of 16 March 48, police were informed that a Leftist meeting was being held on a hillside near the town. Before the arrival of police the crowd had dispersed leaving behind six pounds of dynamite which they had been using to make hand grenades. (A-1) 3. Civil Relations. Civil Distrubances by Province. a. Kyongsang-South: KOJE (1159 - 1315) - At 2400, 16 March 48, approximately 400 persons gathered in front of the police station but were dispersed without violence. Police arrested the leader. (A-1) b. Cholla-South: Chang Pyong Myun (997 - 1151) - (CHEJU-DO) - At 1100, 16 March 48, a policeman who was questioning three suspicious individuals, was assaulted by two of them and fatally beaten with his rifle.
