제목: 반미‧반군정 활동을 벌이는 민주주의 민족전선
1947년 3월 1일
민주주의민족전선 간부들이 제주도에서 폭동을 주도하여 경찰서와 감찰청사를 공격했다. 이들은 미군정의 명령을 거부하고 시가행렬과 시위를 벌이며 경찰과 미군에게 돌을 던졌다. 이에 경찰이 발포하여 6명이 숨지고 4명이 부상을 입는 사건이 발생했다.
3월 10일
남로당이 작성하여 남로당 제주도위원회로 전달하려다 압수된 문서에는 다음과 같은 지령이 적혀 있었다. “야수 같은 경찰이 존재하는 한 우리는 단 하루도 마음 편하게 살 수 없다. 우리의 적을 무너뜨리자.” ‘공장의 모든 세포들’에게 보낸 남로당 제주도위원회 조직부 노동분과의 1947년 2월 16일자 문서에는 유명한 1919년의 3‧1운동을 1946년 10월의 인민폭동과 비교하면서, 미군정의 행위를 비난하고 한국인에 대한 총격과 투옥의 근거가 되는 하지 장군의 포고령 제2호와 제72호를 비난하는 내용의 글이 실려 있었다.

MARCH
1 March - Officials of the Democratic Peoples Front lead riot in CHEJU DO. Attempt to attack Dist Police station and Inspection Command Bldg. Hold parade and a demonstration in defiance of MG orders, throw rocks at the police and Americans, forcing the police to fire upon them, killing six and wounding 4. (8-171-60).
10 March - Confiscated documents issued by the SKLP to the CHEJU DO Comm of the SKLP reveal the following instructions: "We cannot live even a day with an easy mind as long as the brutal police remain. Let us knock down our enemy". Another document from the Labor Section, Dept of Orgn, CHEJUDO Committee, SKLP, dated 16 Feb 47, addressed to "Every cell of factories," compares the famous SAL IL demonstration of 1919 with the October 1946 People's Insurrection; and condemns MG actions and states Gen Hodge's #2 and #72 Decrees causing the shooting and imprisoning of Korean People.
