제주도의 총파업은 여전히 진행중이다. 폭력행위는 보고된 바 없다. 파업은 경영, 노동, 교통, 학교에 영향을 미친다. 군정 고용인 60%가 파업중인 것으로 보고되었다. 경찰 증원병력 400여 명이 정규 경찰병력 300여 명을 강화시키기 위하여 도착했다. 경찰은 상주 경찰의 6분의 1이 임무에 임하지 않았다고 보고하였다. 소요사태는 3월 1일 폭동에 기인하며 남로당이 선동한 것으로 간주되는 주민의 반경찰적 경향을 주로 나타낸다.

General strike on Cheju Island (see our radio GBI 2217 140002 Z) still in progress. Violence not reported. Strike affects management, labor, transportation and schools. 60% Military Govt employees reported on strike. Approximately 400 police reinforcements have arrived to strengthen normal force of 300. Police report about 6th resident police failed to report for work. Trouble stems from riot of 1 Mar and is mainly anti-Police with populace reported agitated by South Korea labor party.
