b. 5월 5일부터 5월 12일까지의 기간 동안 실시된 작전에 관한 경비대 사령부의 보고는 다음과 같다. 지리산 지역(1073-1375)에서 게릴라 67명이 사망하거나 부상당하고 42명이 생포됐다. 38도선 이남 인근 지역에서 게릴라 532명이 사망하거나 부상당했다. 제주도(915-1151)에서 게릴라 2명이 사망하거나 부상당하고 47명이 생포됐다. 보고 기간 총계: 사망 또는 부상 601명, 생포 89명.
논평: 38도선 이남 인근 지역에서 발생한 사망 또는 부상 수치 532명은 1949년 5월 3일에서 6일까지의 기간 동안 개성(950.8-1690.8) 북쪽과 근처에서 실시된 작전에 관해 경비대가 보고한 수치를 포함한다. 본관은 이 수치가 과장된 것으로 여긴다.

G-3 OPERATIONS REPORT
1. LOCATION OF TROOPS
3 Officers and 148 Enlisted Men from D Company, 5th Infantry Regt
departed Uijongbu (1002.7-1665.0) 6 May 1949; closed at Ascon City
(972.5-1635.0) 6 May 1949. 7 Officers and 76 Enlisted Men from
Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment departed
Uijongbu 7 May 1949; closed at Ascon City 7 May 1949.
2. OPERATIONS FOR THE PERIOD
a. 5th Regimental Combat Team:
(1) Patrols conducted for intelligence and security were as
follows: 5th Infantry Regiment, 2 motorized patrols and
1 air patrol.
b. Special Troops, USAFIK: No change.
3. RESULTS OF OPERATIONS
All units continued normal duties.
4. MISCELLANEOUS
a. Korean Constabulary: Korean Constabulary Headquarters reports one Battalion of the 17th Regiment moved to Wonju (1092-1617)
6 May 1949.
b. Korean Constabulary Headquarters reports during the period 5 through 12 May 1949, 67 guerrillas killed or wounded and 42 captured in the Chiri-San area (1073-1375); 532 killed or wounded in the area adjacent to and south of the 38° North
Parallel; and 2 killed or wounded and 47 captured at ChejuDo (915-1151); Total for the period: 601 killed or wounded and 89 captured. Comment: The 532 killed or wounded in the area adjacent to and south of the 38° North Parallel include the figures reported by Korean Constabulary units for the action that took place north of and in the vicinity of Kaesong
(950.3-1690.3) during 3 to 6 May 1949. This office regards these figures as exaggerated.
