게릴라 50명이 매복하여 2연대 트럭 2대를 공격했다. 군인 15명과 민간인 운전기사 1명이 사망했다. 일본 총 150정과 숫자 미상의 실탄을 노획했다.
미군 군수(軍需) 고문관이 제2연대 차량 검열을 마치고 귀환하여 모든 차량을 교체할 것을 권고했다.
7. 전라남도: 지리산 지역:
계속되는 작전으로 게릴라 61명 체포했다.

1. Portfolio under preparation covering history, organization, disposition, logistics of Korean Army, Korean Navy and Korean National Police.
2. Board of Officers met Wednesday 2 February 1949 for purpose of recommending a new Table of Distribution for KMAG. Recommendations submitted and approved 4 February 1949.
3. Board of Officers for Morale matters met 3 February 1949 and dealt with suggestions submitted relating to KMAG matters. Action taken on mail distribution, PX supplies to the field, transportation for advisors in from the field, etc.
4. Cheju Do:
20 guerrillas attacked by ambushing 2 Second Regiment trucks. 15 soldiers and 1 civilian driver killed. 150 Jap rifles and unknown quantity of ammunition taken.
American Ordnance Advisor returned from inspection of motor vehicles of 2d Regiment and recommended 100% replacement.
5. Kangwon Do:
North Koreans came south of the border below Kisomun-Ni (1162-1698) and were repulsed by units of the 10th Regiment. Regiment CO committed 1, 105 howitzer of the Kangnung FA Company which fired 3 rounds into Kisomun-Ni, claiming destruction of two buildings. Will write protest to Mr. Lee Bum Suk on latter incident.
6. Pyong Bong Fukto:
Pohang Dong: 38 soldiers revolted of which 2 have been recaptured with 6 civilians. Weapons: 1 carbine and some ammunition recovered. Balance have taken to hills in small groups.
7. Cholla Nam Do: Chiri San Area:
61 guerrillas captured in current operations which continues.
8. 38 Parallel:
During week ending 6 Feb raids were made along the parallel at: Paekchon, Pohang, Chu-jon Ni and Kisomun-Ni. Police aided by Army units in areas concerned drove each of the raiding forces to the North.
