WEATHER AND VISIBILITY Cool and clear. Favorable to air and ground operations. 3. OPERATIONS FOR THE PERIOD a. XXIV Corps: Effective 24 December 1948 the following unit was re- duced to record status: 107th Machine Records Unit b. 6th Infantry Division: (1) The following units departed the Port of Pusan on dates indicated with destination, 4th Replacement Depot, APO 703. A permanent change of station: 790th Transportation Railway Operating Battalion, 18 Dec 48 183 Malaria Control Detachment, 18 December 1948 6th Signal Company, 20 December 1948 6th Military Police Platoon, 22 December 1948 6th Quartermaster Company, 23 December 1948 144th Veterinary Food Inspection Team, 23 December 1948 Hq & Hq Company, 6th Infantry Division, 24 December 1948 514th Engineer Utilities Detachment, 24 December 1948 (2) The 1st Infantry Regiment consisting of 44 Officers and 824 Enlisted men began departing the Port of Pusan 24 December 1948 for shipment to 4th Replacement Depot, APO 703. Expected to complete movement 2 January 1949. A permanent change of station. (3) During the period 12 to 18 December 1948, 4,147 Military Measurement Tons were outloaded at the Port of Pusan. (4) During the period 3,445 Military and 30,766 Civilian Measurement Tons were discharged at the Port of Pusan. c. 7th Infantry Division: (1) The following unit departed the Port of Inchon, 20 December 1948 for shipment to Japan and assignment to Eighth Army: 7th Signal Company (2) Company "G", 32nd Infantry Regiment departed Injin-Ni (983.1- 1682.6) at 180800 December 1948, closed Seoul (998.3-1639.9) 190900 December 1948. 55 Enlisted men still remain at Camp Munsan (981.3-1682.6) and 20 Enlisted men still remain at Outpost #14 (985.9-1695.0). RESULTS OF OPERATIONS Minor troop displacements were effected. All major commands continued normal occupation duties. 5. MISCELLANEOUS a. Korean Coast Guard: During the period the Korean Coast Guard investigated 235 vessels operating in Korean waters. b. Korean Constabulary: (1) 1st Battalion, 2nd Constabulary Regiment departed Taejon (1043-1493) 15 December 1948, closed Cheju-Do (951-1150) 22 December 1948.
