a. 제주도:
(1) 제주읍 (951-1151) - 1948년 5월 11일, 제주도 활주로(948-1152) 남쪽에서 대규모 무리가 출현하자 제20보병연대 분견대는 두 차례에 걸쳐 경계 태세를 취했다. 해당 무리는 활주로 서쪽에 있는 작은 마을에서 사람들과 총격전을 벌이는 중이었다. 1948년 5월 12일 오전 11시, 총격이 계속되고 있었다. (A-1)
(2) 하귀리 (940-1148) - 1948년 5월 12일, 약 300명의 무리가 경찰 트럭을 향해 발포했다. 경찰은 미국제 카빈으로 무장한 폭도 2명을 죽였다. (B-2)
(3) 외도1(943-1141) - 경비대가 한 마을에 진입해 창으로 무장한 25명을 포로로 붙잡았다. 세부 사항은 조사 중이다. (B-2)
(4) 노형 인근2(946-1145) - 경비대는 동굴과 천막 안에 살고 있던 193명의 사람을 체포했다. 포로 중 하나가 경대비를 "폭도" 본부로 안내하는 데 동의했다. 나머지는 조사를 위해 억류 중이다. (B-2)

Subversive Activity.
a. Terrorism.
(1) TAEGU (1157 - 1439) - At 1930, 11 May 48, an explosion occurred near the home of the Chief of Detectives, Division "E", Provincial Police. Minor damage was done to the building. No one was injured. (A-1)
(2) TAEGU (1157 - 1439) - At 2130, 11 May 48, a grenade, contained in a small can, was thrown into the home of two Rightist students living near Mission Hill. The bomb failed to explode. (B-2)
b. Illegal Activity of a Subversive Nature.
Choesong Myun (1025 - 1309) - At 2000, 11 May 48, a policeman shot one man to death and injured a woman who were part of a group which attacked him as he was entering a cafe. (Police report)
3. Civil Relations.
Civil Disturbances by Province.
a. Cheju-Do:
(1) CHEJU-UP (951 - 1151) - On 11 May 48, the 20th Infantry Detachment was alerted twice, due to the appearance of a large group of persons south of the AIRSTRIP (948 - 1152), who were exchanging shots with people in the small village just West of the AIRSTRIP. At
1100, 12 May 48, the shooting was continuing. (A-1)
(2) HAGWI-RI (940 - 1148) - On 12 May 48, a group of approximately 300 persons, fired on a police truck. Police killed two of the attackers who were armed with U.S. Carbines. (B-2)
(3) At coordinates (943 - 1141) - Korean Constabularymen entered a village and took twenty-five prisoners, who had been armed with spears.
Details are being sought. (B-2)
(4) At coordinates (946 - 1145) Korean Constabularymen apprehended 193 persons living in caves and tents. One of the prisoners agreed to take the Constabulary to "rebel" headquarters. The remainder are being held for questioning. (B-2)
b. Cnolla-south:
Kundong Myun (982 - 1268) - Police report that at 0130, 12 May 48, a group of twenty persons, armed with firearms, killed one man and beat several others seriously. Police are investigating. Additional details are being sought.
