31 May 1947 SUBJECT: · Counter Intelligence Corps Semi-Monthly Report. No. 12 Period Covered: 16 May 1947 to 31 May 1947. (6). Possible Osaka Organization Aiding Korean Island of Cheju-Do (950-1150). An investigation was initiated to determine whether an organization called the Friendly Society, which exists in Osaka Japan, existed in Cheju-Do. It was disclosed that persons who have lived in Pop Whan-ni (954-1119), two (2) miles west Sogwi-Po, and are now living in Osaka, Japan, and have organized the Friendly Society. This society solicits donations from Korean Nationals in Japan for the purchasing of material needed by the people of Pop Whan-ni, Cheju-Do. These articles or materials are to be used for the benifit of the people, not to be sold for individual profits. There is no organization in Pop Whan-ni called the Friendly Society.
