LOCATION OF TROOPS Company C, 5th Infantry Regiment, moved from Seoul (998.4- 1639.8) closed at Inchon (965.6-1630) 13 April 1949. 2. OPERATIONS FOR THE PERIOD a. 5th Regimental Combat Team: (1) Patrols conducted for intelligence and security were as follows: 5th Infantry Regiment, 18 motorized patrols and 1 air patrol; 555th Field Artillery Battalion, 4 motorized patrols; 56th Mechanized Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop, 1 motorized patrol. 5th Infantry Regiment continued small unit demonstrations for Korean Constabulary Units. Two (2) demonstration groups still remain in the field, one group at 2d Brigade, Taejon (1040-1410) and one at 5th Brigade, Kwangju (990-1350). b. Special Troops, USAFIK: No change. 3. RESULTS OF OPERATIONS All units continued normal duties. 4. MISCELLANEOUS a. Korean Constabulary: Korean Constabulary Headquarters reports; 179 guerrillas killed or wounded and 52 captured in the Chiri San area (1077-1[illegible]); 23 killed or wounded in the area adjacent to and south of the 38° Parallel; 72 killed or wounded and 28 captured in the Taegu Pohang area of Southeastern Kyongsang Bukto Province, and 63 killed or wounded and 316 captured at Cheju (915-1151); Total for the period: 336 killed or wounded and 396 captured.
