Rightist Terrorism On CHEJU-Do On 09 November members of the NORTHWEST YOUNG MEN'S ASSOCIATION beat to death KIM Yoo Hyon, the Chief of General Affairs Section, of CHEJU DO. The NWYMA members responsible for KIM's death stated that he was a known communist but that they had only intended to interrogate him, not to kill him. (CIC P/R #263. A-1) b. North Korean People's Army Reported In South KOREA Approximately 60 members of the North Korean People's Army, dressed in civilian clothes, were reportedly seen near POHCILL Mountain (1140-1616) by 3 farmers on 09 November. Nine farmers in the area were kidnapped and forced to carry weapons for the People's Army group. The group had approximately 300 Japanese M-99 rifles in rice bags and 20,000 rounds of ammunition. Each member of the group was armed with a pistol. (F-6) One of the farmers escaped and reported to the police who were alerted. (G-3) On 10 November 50 members of the North Korean People's Army, dressed as civilians and armed with pistols and Japanese rifles, were reported in the vicinity of HONGSONG (1095.5-1634.8). (Police Report) A 13-year old Korean reported to the Constabulary that he had seen 500 members of the North Korean People's Army entering South KOREA on 10 November. One prisoner was allegedly taken and interrogation of this prisoner revealed that the North Korean People's Army group will move across country and enter SEOUL. Most of the People's Army members allegedly carried 5 pistols, the extra ones to be used to arm South Korean communists. (PMAG Report. F-4) The 8th Constabulary Regiment was ordered to locate this group and attack. Reconnaissance is now in progress in the area east of WONJU (1090-1610). (G-2) 4.
