1948년 10월 23일 오후 8시 00분 경비대가 제주읍에서 숲이 우거진 지역에 81mm 박격포 40발을 발사했다. (A-1)
포격 중 무장대는 제주읍(city)에 있는 경비대 수용소 남서쪽 지점에서 수용소를 향해 30발을 사격했다. (A-2)
섬의 북쪽 내륙 고지대에서 봉화 8개가 관찰됐다. 10월 23일 오후 9시 30분 제 주읍(city) 인근 해안에서 봉화 2개가 관찰됐다. (A-1)
1948년 10월 24일 아침 해안에서 떨어진 마을들에서 대규모 집회가 열렸다.
대부분 학생들이 관련됐다. 대규모 집회의 목적을 확인하고 있다. (C-3)

Island. 2 fires on coast near Cheju City 232130 Oct. (A-1)
Mass meeting held in villages away from coast on morning of 24 Oct 48.
Mostly school children involved. Check being made on purpose of mass meeting.
