공산당 게릴라 상황 1948년 9월 20일

1948년 3월과 6월에 본관은 경기도, 충청남북도, 전라남북도, 경상남도를 포함하는 지역의 게릴라 상황에 대한 세 개의 G-2보고서를 딘(Dean) 장군에게 제출하였다. 그 보고서들은 적절한 조치를 위하여 경찰 고문관에게 전달되었다.
그 이후에 본관은 공산주의자들이 부추기는 게릴라 활동에 관하여 미군 고문관들과 효과적인 연락과 협조를 구축하려고 노력하였으나 아무런 정보도 받지 못하였다. 공안국(Uniform Bureau)의 고문관인 베리언(Berrean)의 짤막하고 설득력 없는 보고서를 제외하면 지금까지 아무런 정보도 받지 못하였다.
사령관이 공산주의자들의 활동의 억제와 제거에 대단한 관심이 있기 때문에 본관은 중간 기간 동안에 위에서 열거한 지역의 게릴라 상황과 연관된 코멘트를 포함하며 또 경찰작전의 결과를 명확히 하는 종합보고서를 올릴 것을 요청하는 바이다.

Communist Guerrilla Situation.

On 03 and 06 August 1948, this office submitted three G-2 Estimates of Guerrilla Situations (with situation maps) pertaining to the provinces and areas of Kyonggi Do, Chungchong Pukto, Chungchong Namdo, and Cholla
Namdo-Cholla Pukto-Kyongsang Namdo to General Dean. It is understood that these were then turned over to the Advisor, National Police, for appropriate action.
Since that time, this office has endeavored to establish effective liaison and coordination of activities with the American Advisors concerning the communist-inspired guerrilla activities but negligible information has been received. Except for a brief, inconclusive oral report by Mr. Berrean, Advisor to the Uniform Bureau, no other information has been received to date.
As the Command is extremely interested in elimination or curtailment of communist activities, it is requested that this office be furnished a summary of police action during the interim period, including comments relative to the guerrilla situation in the aforementioned areas, and clarifying the results of police action.
