3. 작전
a. 제6보병사단: 제20보병연대 소속 연합소대 1부대가 1948년 5월 14일 오전 8시에 함정 편으로 목포(938-1308)를 출발하여 1948년 5월 14일 17시에 제주 도(951-1152)에 도착했다. 제20보병연대 소속 연합소대 1부대가 1948년 5월 15일 오후 1시 40분에 항공기 편으로 제주도(951-1152)를 출발하여 1948년 5 월 15일 오후 2시 47분에 광주(996-1351)에 착륙했다. 정보 수집과 경계를 위 한 정찰이 다음과 같이 시행됐다. 제1보병연대 차량정찰 3회, 제1야전포병대대 차량정찰 2회.
보고 기간 동안 군수물자 3,820톤과 민수물자 20,024톤이 부산항에서 수송됐다.
5. 기타
b. 경비대: 보고 기간 동안 제주도에 주둔 중인 경비대는 동굴을 수색하며 활동 중인 게릴라 부대의 위치를 파악하고 소탕하라는 임무를 받고 송당리(977-1147)
와 교래리(967-1142) 사이에서 작전을 수행했다. 작전 결과는 다음과 같다. 포로 200명(여성 51명) 생포, 7명 사망. 경비대 사상자는 없었다. 포로들은 심문을 위 해 제주도 활주로로 연행됐다.

G-3 OPERATIONS REPORT
1. LOCATION OF TROOPS
a. Effective 17 May 1948 the following unit is relieved from assignment to the 657th Engineer Survey Battalion and is assigned to the 2d Engineer Construction Group:

b. Effective 17 May 1948 the following unit is relieved from assignment to the 599th Engineer Base Depot and is assigned to Special Troops, XXIV Corps:
504th Engineer Heavy Shop Company
2. WEATHER AND VISIBILITY
Cool and cloudy. Favorable to ground operations.
3. OPERATIONS FOR THE PERIOD
a. 6th Infantry Division: 1 composite platoon 20th Infantry Regiment departed Mokpo (938-1308) by boat on 140800 May 1948 closed Cheju Island (951-1152) on 141700 May 1948. 1 composite platoon 20th Infantry Regiment departed Cheju Island (951-1152) by air on 151340 May 1948 closed Kwangju (996-1351) on 151447 May 1948. Patrols for intelligence and security were conducted as follows: 1st Infantry Regiment, 3 motorized patrols; 1st Field Artillery Battalion, 2 motorized patrols.
3820 Military and 20024 Civilian Measurement tons were discharged from the port of Pusan during the period.
b. 7th Infantry Division: 2 Platoons Company B 13th Engineer (C) Battalion departed Taejon(1045.0-1492.3) by rail on 181400 May 1948 closed Seoul (1000.7-1649.0) on 181800 May 1948. 2d Battalion 17th Infantry Regiment Taejon (1045.0-1492.3) redesignated 3d Battalion 31st Infantry Regiment. 3d Battalion 31st Infantry Regiment Seoul(998.4-1639.7) redesignated 2d Battalion 17th Infantry Regiment. This reorganization was a paper transaction and did not effect a physical move of personnel. Patrols for intelligence and security were conducted as follows: 48th Field Artillery Battalion, 1 motorized patrol; 57th Field Artillery Battalion, 1 motorized patrol; 17th Infantry Regiment, 4 motorized patrols; 31st Infantry Regiment, 29 foot and 4 motorized patrols; 32d Infantry Regiment, 112 foot and 23 motorized patrols.
c. Korea Base Command: 6957 Measurement tons were discharged for the period.
4. RESULTS OF OPERATIONS
Minor troop displacements were effected. All major commands continued normal occupational duties.
5. MISCELLANEOUS
a. During the period 121800 May 1948 to 171800 May 1948 the Korean Coast Guard investigated 313 vessels in Korean waters: 7 were arrested operating illegally and sent to port under guard.

b. Korean Constabulary: During the period the Korean Constabulary on
Cheju-Do operated between Songdang-Ni (977-1147) and Kyorae-Ri (967-1142) with the mission of searching caves, locating and overcoming guerrilla forces operating in that area. Results of operations: 200 prisoners taken(51 women). 7 killed, no Constabulary casulites. Prisoners taken to Cheju Air Strip for screening.
c. During the period 2420 Koreans crossed the 38° Parallel from North Korea and entered camps at Kaesong, Uijongbu, Chunchon and Chumunjin.
