하지 장군께,
1948년 3월 25일 화요일, 국회선거위원회 위원장 노진설이 본인에게 선거 날짜를 조금 미루는 데 유엔임시위원단의 도움을 받을 수 있는지 문의하는 편지를 보내왔습니다. 그 편지 사본을 동봉합니다.
본인은 중앙선관위 위원장에게 주한미육군사령관에 의해 선거일이 정해졌기 때문에 당신에게 편지를 보내야 한다고 구두로 알렸습니다.
이 편지와 국회선거위원회 위원장 편지의 사본은 임시위원단 구성원들에게도 보내 그들이 원한다면 정보를 받고 검토도 할 수 있게 하였습니다.

BY THE NATIONAL ELECTION COMMITTEE
LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE
UNITED NATIONS TEMPORARY COMMISSION ON KOREA
TO THE COMMANDING GENERAL, UNITED STATES ARMY FORCES IN KOREA
27 March 1948
Dear General Hodge:
On Thursday, 25 March 1948, I received a letter from the Chairman of the National Election Committee, Mr. Ro Chin Sul, asking the assistance of the United Nations Temporary Commission on Korea in obtaining a short postponement of the Election Day. You will find a copy of the letter enclosed herewith.
I have orally informed the Chairman of the National Election Committee that, as the election date has been fixed by the Commanding General of the United States Army Forces in Korea, any request for such a postponement, should be addressed to you for your attention.
In the meantime, copies of this letter and of the letter of the
Chairman of the National Election Committee have been distributed to members of the Commission for their information and consideration, if they wish to do so.
