제주도 남로당 폭동지령 문서 입수
1948년 1월 22일 제주도 조천에서 열린 남로당의 비밀모임을 급습했다. 압수된 여러 문서 가운데 한 특별문서의 일부 내용은 다음과 같다.
㈀ 1948년 2월 중순부터 3월 5일 사이에 제주도 전역에서 폭동을 시작하라.
㈁ 경찰간부와 고위관리들을 암살하고 경찰무기를 노획하라.
㈂ 유엔(한국임시)위원단과 총선거, 군정을 반대하라. 인민공화국을 수립하라.

(2). Conspiracy by the Cheju Do South Korea Labor Party [illegible]
A raid was conducted on a secret meeting of the South Korea Labor Party on 22 Jan '48 in Chochun (936-1154), Cheju Do.
Among the various documents confiscated, a translation of one particular document revealed the following:
a. Start a riot throughout Cheju Do between the middle of Feb '48 and 5 March '48.
b. Assassinate the police staff and other high officials and seize police arms.
c. Oppose the UN Commission, the general election, and Military Government. Establish a People's Republic.
