신엄리 - 1948년 12월 19일 오전 7시께 폭도 약 30명이 주택 30채를 불태우고 경찰 1명과 민간인 10명을 사살했다. 사건을 조사한 경비대는 장교 1명, 사병 9명이 피살되고, 사병 1명이 부상을 입었다는 사실을 알고 경악했다. 폭도들은 M-1 소총 3정, 경기관총 1정, 카빈 소총 1정, 자동소총 1정과 상당량의 탄약 등을 탈취해갔다. (판단 안됨)

Civil Disturbances by Province.
a. Cheju-Do:
CINAM-NI (935 - 1148) - At approximately 0700, 19 Dec 48, an estimated force of 30 raiders killed one policeman and 10 civilians in addition to burning about 30 houses. Constabulary investigating the incident suffered the following casualties: 1 officer, 9 enlisted men killed and one enlisted man wounded. The raiders captured 3 M-1 rifles, 1 LMG, 1 caroine, 1 BAR and a quantity of ammunition. (No evaluation)
