『현대일보』 제주도 주재기자가 편집자에게 보낸 편지에서 최근 제주도의 우익 청년들의 활동이 매우 왕성해지고 있다고 보고했다. “한독당 지부 당원들은 최근 교육 강연도 하고 집회도 가질 목적으로 시골로 떠났다. 시골 주민들은 이승만과 김구를 연호하며 젊은이들을 환영했다. 한편 좌익 지도자 수십 명은 한라산으로 도피했다.”
2. 제주도의 반미 삐라
미군을 공격하는 선동적인 삐라 한 장이 최근 제주도에서 발견되었다. 삐라 내용의 일부는 다음과 같다.
“자신들의 이익을 위해 한국을 강탈하려는 미군을 몰아내자. 총칼로 인민을 위협하는 경찰을 공격하자. 한민족의 수탈자인 우익 추종자들을 처단하자.”

In a letter to the editor, a reporter of the HYUN DAI ILBO (Modern Daily News-ERN) on CHEJU-DO reports that the rightist youth on the island have become very active recently. "Members of the branch (Korean Independence Party) departed to the country recently for the purpose of holding educational lectures and meetings. The people in the country welcome these young men, giving cheers for RHEE Syngman and KIM Koo. On the other hand, several scores of leftist leaders have taken refuge in Mt Hanra." (SEO/5083)

(3) Anti-US Handbills on CHEJU-DO
An inflammatory handbill, attacking the US Army was recently picked up on CHEJU DO. It reads in part: "Drive away the UNITED STATES Army whose desire is to take KOREA from Koreans for their own use. Attack the police who oppress the people with weapons. Condemn the right wing followers, the suckers of the Korean race." (CIC S/I)
