제주도청 불법집회
(발췌: 1947년 3월 22일자 광주 방첩대 보고서 제539호)
1947년 3월 22일 오전 9시 15분 군정관리 약 150명이 불법 집회를 도청 뒷마당에서 열었다. 집회는 20여분 동안 계속됐고, 군정장관이 나타나자 해산했다. 집회는 불만을 품은 소수 군정관리들의 선동에 의해 열린 것 같다. 선동가들이 군중 속에서 움직이는 것이 보였고, 아마도 집회의 실질적 주도자들은 연단 위에 있는 6명은 아닌 것 같다. 집회 안건은 저임금, 고물가, 제주도의 군정 관리들을 위한 동조 파업, 일부 군정 고용원들의 이동에 관한 것이었다.

4. SUMMARY OF INTELLIGENCE IN ADJACENT AREAS.
a. Civil Disturbances on CHEJU-DO Island:
A 6th Inf Div delayed report from CHEJU-DO (960-1140) stated that during the period 3-4 April, a series of Leftist instigated raids on police boxes resulted in the deaths of four (4) policemen, nine (9) rightists and three (3) leftist civilians. Additional casualties include five (5) police wounded and sixteen (16) rightists injured. Three (3) policemen and four

rightists are reported missing. Six (6) U.S. Carbines and one
(1) Jap rifle together with a total of 119 rounds of ammunition
