1. 제주도 상황
a. 러시아 선박 2척 출현.
b. 무장대가 박격포와 기관총 4정을 보유하고 있다고 보고.
c. 주중에 사건에 관한 특별한 보고 없음.
2. 전라남도
a. 반란군이 명확하게 둘로 나뉘었는데 하나는 순천의 동쪽, 또 하나는 서쪽에 있다. 이번 주 작은 공격이 3번 있었고 약간의 피해가 발생했다. 반란군들이 주로 식량을 찾는데 관심을 쏟고 있다.
b. 구례 지역에서 교전이 한번 있었고 적 3명이 죽었다.
7. 재판
여수 사건 관련자에 대한 재판이 종결됐다. 총 2,817명이 재판을 받아 410명이 사형, 563명이 무기징역을 선고받았다.

1. Cheju do Situation
a. Two Russian ships noted.
b. Raiders reported to have mortar and 4 MG's.
c. No special reports of incidents during week.
2. Cholla-Namdo
a. Rebels have apparently split in two groups, one E and one W of Sunchon. Three small attacks were noted during week with minor results. Rebels mainly concerned with foraging expeditions.
b. In Kurye area one contact was made with 3 enemy killed.
3. Kangwon-Do
All reports negative. One Officer of North Korean forces deserted to South.

7. Trials
Trials of those involved in Yosu incident have concluded.
Total trials 2817; death sentences 410; life sentences 563.
8. Demonstration by ROT
The first of several planned demonstrations by ROT to
Korean Constabulary will be held 25, 26, 27 Jan at Sunsik for the Bns of 13th Regt. Many more are planned and being planned.
9. Artillery
Artillery Advisor states that he will be able to place massed fires of 6 Korean Field Artillery Bns by 1 April.
10. Reserve
The Reserve program of Korean Constabulary is moving.
Starting 3 Jan, the organization of the first increment of 9
Regtl Hq and 15 Bns (about 13,500) started with definite progress noted already. Initially, men will get 2 weeks active duty training; later 4 hours payless drill weekly; must use weapons now of parent organization. Second increment starting 7 Feb. Regiments will be numbered 101st, 102nd, etc.
11. Morning Report strength, 7 Jan, Korean Army: 47,967; Recruits 25,634; Total 73,601.
12. New Class (9th) Basic Intelligence starting 17 Jan with all Brig and Regtl S-2's attending.
13. 11th Regt (100[illegible]) closed Imjin-ni 5 Jan.
14. Following new publications translated, printed and distributed this week: Inf Rifle Co; Map Reading; Physical Training; Regtl I&R Plat.

15. Over strong protests at highest level, a new G-4 was installed last week. He had been previously relieved from the same job for inefficiency. Protests succeeded only in holding change away for 4 months. No Korean Officer yet has shown ability to plan ahead as G-4's should.
