Summary of progress of rice collection throughout the four provinces in the 6th Inf Div zone: (1) CHOLLA-SOUTH: Rice collection figures for CHOLLA-SOUTH Province show a total of 99,189 suks of polished rice collected as of 3 June 46. This is approximately 52% of the provincial quota of 193,000 suks. Rationing of one hop per person per day is continuing in MOKPO (938 - 1307), KWANGJU (991 - 1350), and YOSU (1074 - 1301). 500 suks have been allocated for rationing WANDO (975 - 1249) and 200 suks for CHEJU (952 - 1148), but this has not been delivered as yet. A shipment of 14,300 suks of polished rice, which was ordered for SEOUL by MG on 17 April, is being filled as rapidly as rail transportation is available; one third of the order has been filled thus far. Rice collection has slowed considerably and little more is expected to be collected, but under the present system of rationing it is anticipated that there is enough rice on hand to last through August. Block market rice in this area is still plentiful. This brings the total collected in the province to 44,606 suks or approximately [illegible]% of the provincial quote.
