1. 좌익인사 구타 사건
제주도에서 보내 온 한 보고서에 따르면 제주읍에 거주하는 한 저명한 좌익인사의 아내(47살)가 지난 9월 7일 구타당해 현재 부러진 팔을 치료하고 있다. 예비조사에 따르면 폭행이 있기 직전 그녀는 자신을 경찰 대표라고 주장한 정체불명의 사람으로부터 전화를 받았는데, 그는 어떤 문서를 찾기 위함이니 방문을 허락해 달라고 했다. 방첩대가 전화국에서 조사한 바에 따르면 이 집에 전화를 한 유일한 곳은 우익 광복청년단의 고문이 될 것으로 알려진 고위 지방 관리의 집인 것으로 밝혀졌다. (방첩대 정기보고 제637호)
2. 제주도 해안에서 소총과 105mm 탄약 발견
일본군 탄약 은닉처가 한림 해안에서 발견되었다. 발견된 것은 소총 실탄 약 6,000～7,000 발과 105mm 탄약 약 20발이다. 이 탄약들은 2차 대전 당시 일본군이 은닉한 것이다. 해녀들이 이 은닉처를 발견했다. (방첩대 정기보고 제637호)

(2) Two Beatings Reported Against Leftists
From CHEJU (950-1150) comes the report that the 47 year-old wife of a prominent leftist in that town was beaten on 07 September and is now recovering from a broken arm. A preliminary check shows that just prior to this assault a telephone call was received by her and some unknown person, who claimed to be a police representative, said he wanted to be allowed entrance to the house to search for any papers. A check by CIC at the telephone office revealed that the only call to this house had been made from the home of a high provincial official who is reputed to be an advisor to the right-wing KWANGBOK YOUNG MEN'S ASSOCIATION (CIC P/R #637)

(1) Rifle, 105 MM Ammunition Found Off CHEJU-DO
A cache of Japanese ammunition was discovered in the water off HALLIM,-HALLIM HUTH, CHEJU-DO. Found were approximately six to seven thousand rounds of rifle ammunition and about 20 rounds of approximately 105 MM ammunition. This ammuni- tion was buried by the Japanese during the war. Diving girls discovered the cache. (CIC F/R #637)
