(1) 제주도의 게릴라 폭력
보고 기간 동안 여러 건의 추가보고에 따르면 제주도에서 게릴라가 활동을 재개하고 있다. 1948년 9월 15～18일 사이에 제주도의 여러 지역에서 주민 5명이 폭도들에게 살해되었다. 폭도들이 자신들의 권위를 높이거나 힘을 과시할 뚜렷한 목적으로 공격을 개시했다는 것을 2건의 사건에서 알 수 있다. 경찰지서 1곳이 총격을 받았으나 피해는 없었다.

b. Guerrilla Violence on Cheju Do
During the reporting period, several delivery reports dis-closed a renewal of guerrilla activities on Cheju Do. Between 15-18 September 1946, 5 persons were killed by raider groups in various locations throughout the island. In 2 instances raiders conducted. [illegible] intimidated villagers in an apparent effort to increase their practices or demonstrate their power. One police box was also fired upon but no damage resulted.
