남한의 자료에 따르면 3월 1일부터 4월 30일까지 제주도에서 토벌대와 폭도간의 손실을 다음과 같다.
폭도 사살 1,075명, 폭도 체포 3,509명, 폭도 투항 2,063명, 노획 무기로는 브라우닝 자동소총 3정, M-1 소총 23정, 카빈 소총 26정, 일본제 38식 소총 24정, 일본제 44식 소총 4정, 일본제 99식 소총 105정, 권총 8정이다. 또한 토벌대원 32명이 피살되었고, 작전 중 17명이 부상당했으며, 탈취된 무기는 경기관총 2정, M-1 소총 4정, 카빈 소총 8정이다. (C-4)
논평 : 이 보고서에 언급된 ‘폭도’들의 숫자가 엄청나게 많은 이유는 토벌대가 섬 중산간 지역에 사는 주민 모두를 통상적으로 폭도로 분류해 놓았기 때문이다.

According to South Korean sources, a recapitulation of Security forces and rebel loses on CHEJU-DC from 01 March to 30 April list the following: 1,075 rebels killed; 7,509 rebels taken prisoner; 2,055 rebels surrendered; captured from rebels 3 B.A.R.'s, 23 M-1 rifles, 26 carbines, 24 Japanese model 38 rifles, 4 Japanese model-44 rifles, 105 Japanese model 99 rifles and 8 pistols; 32 Security force members killed; 17 wounded in action; 2 IMG's, 4 M-1 rifles and 2 carbines captured by rebels. COMMENT: The apparently large number of "rebels" mentioned in this report can be justified when it is considered that all residents of the mountainous interior of the island are automatically classified as rebels by Security Forces.
