세 무리의 폭도들이 5월 14일 오후 1시 한림을 여러 방향에서 공격했으나 경찰과 경비대의 합동작전으로 격퇴되었다. 폭도 5명이 사살되었다. 이들 폭도들은 다음 날 오후 3시에 재차 한림을 공격하여 경찰 1명을 살해하고 주택에 몇 차례 불을 질렀다. (미군정 보고, B-2)

\/e. Raiders Attack CHEJU-DO Village
Three groups of raiders attacked different parts of the village of HALLIM (934-1138) at 141300 May, but were driven off by combined police and constabulary action. Five of the raiders were killed. Groups of raiders again attacked the village at 151500 May, killing one policeman and starting several fires. (MG Rpt B-2)
