10월 6일 제주도 남부 지역에서 경비대 1개 대대가 작전 중 색달리 인근에서 무장폭도 약 40명과 교전했다. 이 교전에서 경비대원 1명이 피살되고 4명은 부상 당했다. 폭도들의 피해에 대해서는 알려져 있지 않다. (방첩대 긴급 보고, C-2)

**Raider Activities on CHEJU-DO**
On 06 October 20 CHEJU-DO policemen engaged in a firefight with 40 armed raiders in the vicinity of KUMNYONG (975-1157). One policeman was wounded. (CIC Flash Report. C-2)
During Constabulary operations in the southern portion of CHEJU-DO on 06 October one battalion made contact with approximately 40 armed raiders in the vicinity of CHANG DAL LI (940-1122). In the firefight which developed 1 Constabularyman was killed and 4 were wounded. Raider casualties are unknown. (CIC Flash Report. C-2)
